There are 28 candidates in the fray for this seat. The Vellore seat has six assembly constituencies – Vellore, Anaikattu, Kilavatinakuppam, Gudiyattam, Vaniyamwadi and Ambur. Voting took place at 1,400 polling stations. About 63% of the people cast their votes in the election held on 5 August. The AIADMK election campaign was led by Chief Minister E.K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam did. At the same time, DMK President MK Stalin led Anand’s campaign.
